Summer Night Symphony

There was a heaviness in the air, like rain had just fallen.  I had my eyes closed as I took in the sounds of the crickets and frogs creating the symphony of summer nights as the leaves acted as instruments of the gentle wind.  The gurgling of the small stream ahead of us added a voice-like aspect to our melody.  We laid down together in the soft grass, and I rested my head on your chest.  The beating of your heart created a new dimension to the music playing all around us.
I looked up, and my breath stopped as I took in the view.  There were billions of stars lit up like torches and spread across the sky.  I could see the Milky Way, and I followed the dusting from horizon to horizon.  There must have been a firefly nest somewhere near us, because what seemed like millions of them flew up to circle our heads acting as personal stars.  They orbited us like we were colliding galaxies with a fate literally written in the stars.  We had our own summer symphony that night, and we didn't have to share it with anyone.
